Hailed as a “knockout performer” by The Times, mezzo-soprano Fleur Barron returns to the Festival with pianist Julius Drake to perform a program that contemplates the incalculable preciousness of children. Moving seamlessly between humor and tragedy, this recital includes the first-ever Festival performances of Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder (Songs on the Death of Children) and Mussorgsky’s Detskaya (The Nursery), along with selected songs by Schumann.
