Benjamin Appl & Simon Lepper Recital

Acclaimed lyric baritone Benjamin Appl and pianist Simon Lepper make their Festival debuts in a program they have titled The Sound of Silence, which focuses on pauses and silences in music, and on introspection as the starting point for inspiration. Renowned for his art song recitals, Appl was one of the final students of the legendary German baritone Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. He brings his extraordinary artistry to this program which includes Schumann’s complete Liederkreis, Op. 39, and works by Monteverdi, Wolf, and others.
