The Miami Quartet returns to perform beloved works of Mozart and Mendelssohn. Mozart’s K. 421 Quartet is one of a set that he famously dedicated to Joseph Haydn. After Haydn heard them, he said to Mozart’s father “Before God and as an honest man, I tell you that your son is the greatest composer known to me.” Mendelssohn’s Op. 80 Quartet is his impassioned, final chamber work, composed after the death of his beloved sister Fanny, and only months before his own passing at the age of 38.
