Steven Tenenbom

Violist Steven Tenenbom has established a distinguished career as a chamber musician, soloist, recitalist, and teacher. He’s worked with composer Lukas Foss and jazz artist Chick Corea, and he’s appeared as a guest artist with ensembles and organizations such as the Guarneri Quartet, Emerson String Quartet, Beaux Arts Trio, Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio, and Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

Tenenbom has performed as a soloist with the Utah Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, and Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, and he’s toured with the Brandenburg Ensemble throughout the United States and Japan. His festival appearances include the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival; Mostly Mozart; Ravinia; Chamber Music Northwest; Music from Angel Fire; and the Aspen, Marlboro, June, and Bravo! Vail music festivals.

A recipient of the Coleman Chamber Music Award and a former member of the Galimir Quartet, Tenenbom is currently a member of the Orion String Quartet, the piano quartet OPUS ONE, and TASHI. He serves on the faculties of the Curtis Institute of Music, Juilliard School, Bard College Conservatory of Music, and Mannes School of Music. His discography includes recordings for RCA Records with TASHI and the Guarneri Quartet, and he can also be heard on the Arabesque, Delos, ECM, Marlboro Recording Society, and Sony Classical labels.
