Marilyn Barnes

Artistic director of Tri-M Productions, Marilyn holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Idaho and a Master’s in Opera Performance from the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, Connecticut. Settling in New Mexico 30 years ago, she taught for 15 years at the College of Santa Fe. She founded and directed the Zia Singers.

She taught choir at Santa Fe High School for 15 years. Ms. Barnes remains active in the New Mexico Music Educators Association and the New Mexico American Choral Directors Association. She is a frequent choral clinician and adjudicator throughout the state of New Mexico. Ms. Barnes was given the “Teacher Who Inspires” award, sponsored by the Partners in Education Foundation, and the Lorraine Goldman Golden Baton Music Educator award twice. She was honored with the “Music Educator of the Year” award from the New Mexico Music Educators Association in January 2019.
