Janine Sammeth
curriculum writer and trainer
Janine Sammeth is a music educator with Santa Fe Public Schools. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music and Elementary Education from Whitworth University (1987), and her Master’s Degree in Creative Arts in Learning from Lesley College (1993). Having completed Levels I and II in Orff Schulwerk elementary music education training, as well as Music Together Level I certification in early childhood music, she dedicates her time and energy to creating amazing, transformative musical experiences for young people.
Janine helps kids make connections to music, each other, and their academic world through creative and engaging lessons and activities. Over the course of her career, Janine has taught from Prekindergarten to adult students, but grades Prekindergarten through grade 6 is where her true passion lies. Janine is an informed and vocal advocate for music education for youth in the public sector.
As an instructional coach and mentor, she has trained music teachers for more than twelve years. She has also supported music education programs through multiple leadership roles. Janine was the recipient of the Partners in Education “Teacher Who Inspires” Award (2012) and a Golden Apple Award Teacher of Distinction Recipient (2015). As a curriculum writer, she has been designing and writing lesson plans that bring chamber music to life for thousands of children for more than sixteen years.
