A Dynamic Duo Comes to the Festival with Prokoviev
This Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival program explores Prokofiev’s intricate textures in Sonata in C Major for Two Violins, Op. 56. Violin virtuosos Paul Huang praised for his warm, golden tone, and Danbi Um, an “utterly dazzling” artist, make their Festival debut together.
Avery Fisher Grant recipient Paul Huang has performed with the Mariinsky Orchestra under Valery Gergiev, has stepped in for Anne-Sophie Mutter, and has won critical acclaim at festivals from Lucerne to Aspen. Danbi Um, “an utterly dazzling artist” (The Strad), won a Silver Medal at the Menuhin Competition and has appeared at such festivals as Marlboro, Ravinia, Moab, and Caramoor. Both Huang and Um are part of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. See them together August, 31 at 6PM
